Moving

My moving diary

Monday, July 04, 2005

I almost forgot to mention the cat formerly known as TomTom...He has been renamed to Simon and neutered.
We have not moved him over yet, but he should be joining me and Sophie in the new house shortly.

Moved, though Jason hasn't gotten everything over yet.
The place is great, though I do need some furniture.
I rented a washer and dryer for now....though I will buy a set within 3 months.
The kitchen needs a counter/island and a baker's rack.
I still have no microwave, but the new cookware is great.
I also will need a hanging potrack.
Perhaps some pictures (if I ever get a digital camera...and the boxes unpacked)

Well, it's heating up...moving on Fri...I got a broom and a cookware set. It got good reviews in ePinions. I got a new cat, too. He will be neutered tomorrow, in fact. I'm still looking for a new name for him-his original (and yet surprisingly UNoriginal is Tom)...He's just Thomas for now.
Been reading Noam Chomsky-depressing me. I mean, I love Chomsky, but he is not going to assure you of the wonder of the US economy.

Well, it occurred to me that keeping a diary of my move would be a good idea, maybe to make things a bit more organised. Yesterday I paid off my backbills from the electric company and the cable company, and set them to be turned on at the same time as the gas, the first of July.
Now I need to find a washer and dryer-just called the landlord, and it turns out that I have an electric outlet for the dryer.
I'm at work right now, watching episodes of The Invisible Man-on ep 19 right now. Going home at 1, to get some more sleep. Have been starting a list of things I need for the duplex for moving day. Hopefully the washer and dryer-paper plates, plastic forks and such, pots and pans...a really large list, mind you.
